Swen Marcel was born in 1974 in Rhineland-Palatinate, where he grew up in a small village in the Eifel, amongst cows and vineyards. Already as a child, he spent a lot of his days mastering the drawing pencil. After initially being inspired by the comic and cartoon heroes of his youth, he started to develop his own characters over time.
In the 90s, he bade adieu to country life and moved to Cologne, where he turned his hobby into profession and started to work as a cartoonist and illustrator for various publishing houses and advertisement agencies. In 2000, his comic-book hero David first saw the pink light of the queer scene, his stories appeared in the magazine RIK until 2012 (now FRESH NRW).
In 2008, Swen Marcel moved to Berlin. Here, he dedicated his book Soxs Men (2012) to lovers of male legs sporting socks, stripping down his comic character Rodgar Wetbull for Boner Magazine, and erotically transforming hefty male images into comics in Bavarian Bears (2016).
