Lars Deike was simultaneously born into two families of publishers, in 1963 in Constance on Lake Constance. His love for photography accompanied him for a large part of his younger life, inspiring his decision to study Photography in Los Angeles. In 2001, upon returning to Germany, Lars Deike opened a photo studio in Munich. Here, his work focused on the male body in the interplay of light and shadow.
Numerous exhibitions in Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Berlin, Cologne, London, and Hamburg made him an established name in German erotic male photography. Lilo Wanders showed Deike’s photographs in her Wahre Liebe (true love) broadcast. In 2008, Lars Deike discovered his love of painting. He thematically links this to his past as a photographer, often capturing the male body during erotic play on larger than life canvases. At the VENUS in Berlin, he for the first time exhibited female nudes.
The artist supports social projects in Berlin, among other things by auctioning off original works of art. Since 2017, the artist exhibits monthly in the Brezel Company café in Berlin.
