Katja Strube was born in Cologne in 1982. Since her earliest childhood she already loved pen and paper above anything else. Those initial scrawled images developed into a deep passion for drawing, illustrating, and “watching cartoons” – sometimes also during class.
After school, she enjoyed a design education followed by a long period of self-study, style exercises, and nude drawings.
Comics and animated films consistently stimulated and inspired her. During her subsequent studies, Strube shifted her focus from still to moving images and from 2D to 3D. The countless hours she spent creating, day and night, – a routine her friends and family could only shake their heads at – made the products of her hard labour look better each day.
Today, following a halfway normal daily rhythm, and with a job in the media industry, there is a bit less time for illustrating; her love for illustrating has however remained as strong as ever and a very, very, very… important constant in her life.
